Over the years, the Museum has acquired excellent examples of Mérida's works, showing his diversity of themes and media and progression as an artist—from his 1927 Images of Guatemala to his 1936 Birds of Paradise, and his 1965 Los Tres Reyes. In 2014, the Museum acquired an important set of original gouaches used for Mérida's popular 1941 Mexican Costume portfolio of serigraphs. The exhibition features nearly 30 works. Visitors can now also see Mérida's impressive glass mosaic mural made for HemisFair '68 since it has recently been reinstalled in the new Convention Center.
